Workshop- Gathered Botanicals garden-side distillation & botanical tea gathering at Farm Freedom.
Join Gathered Botanicals for a garden-side distillation workshop + botanical tea gathering at Farm Freedom in Lowell, MI.`Saturday, June 25, 2022 10am-12pm.
Learn the art of botanical distillation from start to finish. As a group, we will distill in a traditional copper alembic still with the purpose of obtaining the complete therapeutic botanical water. This complete botanical water consists of both the essential oil & hydrosol from the plant. Guests will partake in light prep work as we prepare the botanicals for distillation, make a traditional rye flour sealant for the still, and honor the slow art of distillation.
During the distillation time guests will proceed on with a guided tour of the farm. Ending in Farm Freedom's herb and flower garden. Here guests are welcome to collect a few bundles of fresh botanicals as we discuss their benefits. Tools will be provided to string and label the bundles to take home. Enjoy these botanical in either fresh infusions, syrups, or dry for later use in hot herbal teas. Each guest will also leave with a 1 oz fine mister bottle of fresh the hydrosol that was prepared together. Herbal infused waters, and a light snack will be provided.
