TONE Wild Elder Flower with Lavender
Wild Elder Flower Hydrosol. The delicate blooms of the shrub-like wild Elder tree appear only once a year at the beginning of summer. Showcasing their lacey blooms only for a short while. Working quickly, we gather these blooms from alongside the shaded edges of the forest and riverbanks. When fresh, the Elder blooms smell delicately sweet with a mild honey-like aroma. Once distilled the bloom's fresh, green, herbaceous notes appear. Elder flower is known to help to boost skin's circulation when used topically. Looked towards to aid with inflammation, and acts as a relaxant for both mind and body. We blend this wild hydrosol with classic French lavender for its aromatic properties and even further calming abilities. Making this TONE offering ideal for dry, sensitive, maturing, inflamed skin.

What is a Hydrosol? Hydrosols are produced by distilling various parts of fresh leaves, fruits, or herbs. Through steam distillation we are able to obtain botanical waters comprised of plant acids, minerals, small amounts of essential oil, and other water-soluble compounds found within the plant. Hydrosols have similar properties to essential oils, but are much less concentrated, softer, and have more subtle herbaceous notes. We distill our own seasonal hydrosols in a traditional copper alembic still. Utilizing wildly foraged or locally organically grown botanicals at the peak of their soon. These energetic and therapeutic waters help to rebalance skin's pH, regulate oil production, clear problematic skin, and soothe irritation.
